Camilo Vieco

Camilo Vieco is a comic book artist and animation director from Colombia. His work spans a range of formats from short-form comics to documentaries. In 2016, he won the regional prize in the Young Talents Content for the Angoulême International BD Festival, and published his first graphic novel, El Baile de San Padcual, in 2020. Vieco currently works for Venturia Animation Studio. He studied graphic design in Bogotá and has a Masters degree in Bande Dessinée from the university of Poitiers in France.

A pothole on the road to town ruins the truck of Sara's family and her dream of studying abroad. Determined to find out why her remote community is so neglected, Sara rallies inquisitive friends and neighbours in search of answers, uncovering secrets that spread far beyond her family's orange groves. This graphic novel was created by the Seek Initiative, with support from CORRECTIV, to encourage citizens and communities to carry out their own investigations. We hope this fictional story brings transparent, rigorous research methods to new audiences.
